I'm sure you have heard of DJ Pedster before from Youtube, BPM and being a DJ Import on the famous DJTutor.com. Starting as a DJ in 2006 he has overcome obstacles with a lot of things over the years. He likes House, Fidget, Garage and Drum & Bass music. DJ Pedster has a physical disability called Cerebral Palsy, however, despite this he doesn't let this get in his way of what he wants to do and how he does them. His greatest acheivment to date is designing and running his own internet radio station all by himself, Live4Vibez.
Please watch this video, it will give you an insight to DJ Pedster's life and achievments:
1. How old are you?
36 :(
2. How long have you been involved in DJ'ing & the scene ?
From 1996 his little sister got him into Jungle, his first taste of it was from Rude FM. He absolutely loved it, but he enjoyed the MC'ing more. Back in those days, radio was his source of music and his inspiration.
3. What are your plans?
To be another top disabled DJ. Maybe also produce his own tracks professionally.
4. How did you get into what you're doing ?
As he has a physical disability, he didn't think he could be a DJ - he has limited dexterity in his hands, so using decks was an impossible task. However, since PC's have become a part of society, this would enable him to become a DJ. He uses the PC as my decks, mixer and my audience. He has a full DJ setup now, so he uses his left foot to operate everything.
5. Who or what inspired you to want to be a DJ?
Well, he always wanted to be a MC, but what with not being able to talk....er..yeah, it'll be impossible! He has loads of lyrics in his head though. DJ'ing, well, he inspired myself really - for the simple fact that he have over come other obstacles in his life. These days you can do anything with a PC, so he found a program, Virtual DJ, and it went from there. Other DJ's have praised him on his mixing, and have told him to continue my dream - and he is!
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Er, married? Not sure really. His ultimate goal is to play in clubs, but we will have to see if it'll happen
In January of 2010, DJ Pedster brought himself a full proper DJ setup, he thought as it is a new decade, why not become a DJ with proper kit. The kit consists of:
2 x KAM KHD410's;
1 x NUMARK DM1002Mk2 MIXER;
1 x STAGE LINE STA 700 AMP - 400 WATTS PER CHANNEL;
1 x WHARFEDALE TITAN 15 (PASSIVE) - 800 WATT SPEAKERS - 400 WATT EACH;
2 x NJD LED DJ BANK KIT - LED COLOUR WASH PACKAGE;
Here is a video of it in action:
As you can see, DJ Pedster uses his left foot to operate everything - like the film My Left Foot! :)
DJ Pedster never thought he could become a DJ, but it took only one person to change all that, a humble guy called Jonathan, also known as ellaskins and the DJ Tutor. DJ Pedster was one of his very first subscribers, even remembers his very first videos. Jonathan commented one one of DJ Pedster's first ever mixes, and that very comment encouraged DJ Pedster to continue to become "A Superstar DJ" (quoted from Jonathan) - and we can truely say that this has become true. DJ Pedster met Jonathan at the BPM in 2008, which was long overdue, and it was DJ Pedster's pleasure to DJ for him at BPM.
DJ Pedster has a few video/audio demos for you to watch and have a listen to. To fit his style of deejaying, all his live shows are called "The Crazy Crossfader Show".
He would love to work as a mobile DJ, at parties, clubs, radio stations or internet radio, also attend events and speeches. If you think he has what it takes, please contact him.
